When you know that all you want to do is just marry your person, no bells, no whistles, no stress.
Our hearts just melted when marrying Hannah & Josh, so much love, devotion and adoration. Both shy and not wanting ‘a fuss’, the ‘Newly-Wed’s-to-be’ chose Elope Brisbane for the simplicity and intimacy of a small wedding ceremony. Spending quality time together has always been an important element of their relationship, as well being very close to their immediate family. They felt that the best way to honour this was to keep it just them.
So, with the love and support of their parents they tied-the-knot at sunset, down by the Brisbane river underneath the iconic Story Bridge. It was symbolic, it was private, it was romantic, it was perfect!
A little nervous the Groom waited for his Bride under the beautiful Fig Tree. On approach and looking radiant in her gorgeous bohemian inspired lace dress, Hannah saw her man (back turned). She suddenly stopped with an overwhelming sense of ‘this is really happening’. Dad, with his Irish accent and tears welling, gave her some reassuring words and a loving hug. A couple of steps more, Josh turned for that ‘first look’, gave her the biggest of smiles and all was fine. When you have ‘your person’ by your side then you know that love is what gives you strength. With a deep breath, a moment to savour, loving glances and a sneaky kiss, Ketrina, was given the go ahead and began the nuptials.
A simple and sweet ceremony was their request. It was intimate, heartfelt with a few giggles along the way. Dad’s were the ring bearers, Mum’s were their witnesses. They held their ceremony their way.
Having shared their minimal vows and exchanged their rings, they enjoyed a few more meaningful words read by Ketrina, while holding hands. This time allowed for them to truly appreciate and digest that moment in time, without distraction.
‘You may kiss!’ and without delay, they embraced with joy and delight! Yay! All married!!! How wonderful!!
Captain Burke Park at Kangaroo Point in Brisbane offer’s so many photo opportunities; the dramatic backdrop of the Story Bridge, the glitzy city skyline, the parkland, river and not too far away the cliffs. And if you get the timing right, the ‘golden hour’ offers stunning lighting along with the chance to romance under the pretty fairy lights wrapped around the fig tree. Our photographer Romana will ensure that the essence of your captured with ease and beauty.
For anyone considering an elopement with us, whether they wish to celebrate with family and friends or just with your witnesses present, then we wholeheartedly recommend our ‘Simple Elope’ option. A special, small, intimate wedding that is inspired by personality and not dictated by tradition. A special day just for the two of you, just the way you want it.
